California Sue Your Boss Law

In January 2004 California legislation passed the Private Attorneys General Act (nicknamed the Sue Your Boss Law). This statute serves a two-fold purpose. The first purpose is to create penalties for literally every provision in the California Labor Code that didn't already provide for a penalty. The second part of this piece of legislation is an authorization for employees to recover penalties for any and every violation of the Labor Code.
